PICOLÉ DA BAHIA
Picolé da Bahia (Popsicle from Bahia) was born and raised in Itapuã. His nickname comes from capoeira and his life story, as he used to sell popsicles on the beaches of the region. His mother and grandmother made their living by selling goods along the shoreline of Itapuã, one of the beaches that inspired famous songs by Vinícius de Moraes, known around the world.
Picolé teaches Capoeira at his place called Caixa do Picolé, where he has welcomed foreigners from all over the world. Some say he’s the capoeirista who makes one of the best moquecas! A Rastafarian man sharing his love through Capoeira culture.
His berimbaus are known for being light, with carved details and a striking sound. Purchase this berimbau and carry a piece of the axé of Itapuã with you!
